Ishan Kishan’s focus on IPL over Ranji Trophy could lead the BCCI to mandate a minimum number of first-class matches for players to be eligible for the IPL auction.

Kishan skipped Jharkhand matches citing fatigue but was seen training elsewhere, angering officials. The board is considering requiring 3-4 Ranji games to curb players prioritizing the IPL over domestic cricket.

The Indian team think-tank is also reportedly unhappy with players avoiding Ranji appearances. It remains to be seen if Kishan will play Jharkhand’s final match and if the BCCI will implement the new rule.
